We're you already an SH while at GEO5?

Normally, the GEO 5 to SEO 1 will have a good bump (600 - 800) SEO 1 to SEO 2 more.. The MI is also more than GEO. High 7k or low 8 k is the starting point for most SEO. But as usual, this forum will supply the data. Lol... waiting to see the real number as people reveal next week.

Likely more. Mine last year was about 660 from GEO5 to SEO1. Similar scenario to you. GEO5 for 4 years and perf grade B.

Seems like for GEO5 to SEO1 the promotion pace hasn't been slowed down at all? 4 years isnt much time for a teacher to move into the SEO ranks if they're SH or ST

I believe the reason is for SH and HOD to be placed in SEO grade rightfully so that ranking of geo5 officers can be more fair.
Hod/SH at GEO5 is more likely to given B than a geo5 teacher. Emplacing them rightfully in the job grade is better for GEO5 teachers cause seo1 SH will get C, and they dun end up taking up the B grades for geo5

Spent 4.5 years as GEO 3 but only 3 years as GEO 4 before promoted to GEO 5 (I was appointed as SH for one year). I guess my CEP was probably bumped up while I was GEO 4?

There are people who are GEO4 for 10, 12 years with constant C grades lol, and their CEP is low too

I am glad to see that MOE has been increasing the starting pay for new hires in order to attract people into this profession. However, I have been discussing with the new teachers in my school, and it is really demoralising to see that their pay can almost match teachers who are in service much longer.
For example,
My GEO2 colleague is currently drawing 5k pay in his 2nd year of teaching. His pay can easily be close to mine after being promoted to GEO3 this year.
I am currently in my 7th year of teaching, promoted to SH, GEO5 and my pay is only 6.3k.
It just feels unfair to be loaded with so much work, while newer colleagues are drawing pay that can easily match existing teachers. I am not sure why the HR is not reviewing the pay scheme for the existing teachers, seems like a gap in the system.

if u want faster and greater increments, it should be the private sector for u
