Please move on to another school. Such a hard-to-get grade is rare. The school is obviously not interested in moving anyone up. Cohort promotion may not be a thing but one shouldn't be stuck in such a grade for so long a time. Go to somewhere. Two consecutive Bs will be enough to move you forward very quickly. And a school values their A-grade performers. You might get a position sooner than you think.

I joined teaching cause I love to teach and want to teach. I didn’t join to be an event organizer or baby sitter for excursions. Yes. I understand this is part of the work but too much of it is overboard and pulls me away from teaching. Over the years, it became a game of playing the right cards, be friend the right person in school to move up the ladder.

What about teaching? That’s a by-product already.

It makes the profession like a strategic chess play. Too complicated already.

I can’t say this happens in every school, but I know it happen in some and it’s bad.

I don’t claim to know about other schools but one of my own JHs just got promoted. He came in as GEO2 BT last year. Another male BT in my sch who came in with him last year also got promoted, their names were in promo list.

So it’s not true that all GEO2s got their promotion slowed?

What's the total increment for GEO 5 to SEO 1, for PB of grade A?

There is a standard date for all School Leaders to announce the promotion list to staff i.e. 25 March Tuesday.

Thus, if you didn't hear anything on 25 March, then likely not in the list.

Don't know your base. But the limited info I received - you would start at 8.4 k at least. It's also linked to your CEP in some ways. If your CEP is SEO 1, then the adjustment might be lower so that you have a longer runway for adjustments.

Teaching track here. Was geo5 for about 4 years before getting my seo1. Perf grade this year was B. Would I expect at least a $500 bump in pay? Or is that hoping for too much?

I don't understand why people complain about office politics. Its basic human nature to be that way. We're talking about rank and money.why do people think that teaching will be immune to politicking? The only way we can avoid all this is if robots taught everything.

Thats assuming that the GEO5 is at the ceiling of their grade though. If they're still mid way through GEO5 scale then isnt it around 500 including annual increment.
