Well, different schools do it different ways. Some wants to make it difficult so that people dun think of stepping down/part load and all. Some is more flexible to cater to EO’s life. So depends on what kind of SL you have. GEO5A is not guaranteed, there’s max number of geo5A in the school base on number of geo5 already in the school.

SEO1 to GEO5A is stated in the Intranet. It’s automatic conversion.

It’s not automatic la. SEO1 is a pre condition for considering to geo5A, but not an entitlement. If too many geo5A in the school alr, SL can choose to put you in 5. And also, if u are performing like **** in seo1, SL can choose to out u at 5. Cause 5A is for “good performing geo5”. No such thing as automatic in moe unless you are high flyer, then yes, automatic A year on year.

Need advice!
Hello all, hope you had a good break during school hols. I would like to ask if anyone has been in the same situation - I am planning to take no-pay leave for personal matters for about 3 weeks in September, probably after Sep hols to end of the month. 2 questions:
1. Without revealing my reasons, is it possible to take such no-pay leave? Who ultimately approves it? SL or HR?
2. Would I still be eligible for EOY bonuses - 13 month and Civil Service bonuses?
For context, just a GEO3 HOT - not holding any KP or other important roles in school, only subject coordinator. Doing okay - B and C grades the past few years and haven't stepped on anyone's toes (To my knowledge) and SLs generally have a decent impression of me, according to my RO.
Doing some financial planning to see the feasibility before I inform the higher-ups. Would appreciate if anyone could give me any info on the above. Thank you!

1) Usually need a reason to get approved. If too personal, at least P needs to know in order for him/her to support approval.
2) will get, just prorated. Even your connect plan will get pro rated. PB maybe not as 3 weeks is too short to say your 3 weeks’ disappearance affects the performance.

1) need a reason to be given approval. At least P needs to know in order to support your application.
2) everything will be pro rated, even your connect plan. Performance bonus wise, should not be a problem as your 3 weeks’ shouldn’t be impactful enough to say u not in school everybody’s work affected.

Those look like normal HQ working hours. Today, we are doing what probably used to be two or three officers' work a decade ago. You know MOE is getting their money's worth when you have to somehow keep tabs on both a Zoom meeting and a Teams meeting at the same time... while having dinner at 8pm.
