Promotion
When will we know if we are promoted? Isn’t promotion around the same time as PB? Thank you.

Takes effect 1 Apr (so that should be the latest), but usually bosses will let you know earlier.
No point worrying about it now; once you see a mass email congratulating people, you’ll know whether you’re getting it or not.

2 colleagues went on 80% load this year and 2 of us in the department are expected to cover their 20%. This is so unfair. Why are we being made to do more work because of someone else's personal decision to go 80%? We don't get their 20% salary right. It should go to us.

for this 80% type of workload, is there any reduction in their salary?

If your school's ranking panel is fair, both of you will be rewarded usually via a better grade and bonus or at least get some of those awards for the additional contributions to the department.
But if no fairness, can only llst or leave the school for greener pasture

I have seen a case where both the EO who went on ML and the poor naive chap who covered for the workload get a C grade. Like I say, much of it has got to do with likeability.
