C is a good performance grade, there is no such thing as usually.

If the JH is not performing, and there is no improvements despite interventions, D is what he/ she deserves.

The decision is made by the panel, comprising all the KPs and SLs. There must be a number of AFIs for such decision to be made. It should not be a surprise.

What do you think of teachers who cannot manage classes?

I doubt school leaders/ KPs will deliberately find fault with any teachers. A learning classroom is not one that is quiet. Healthy buzzing is appreciated. But if students are yelling at the top of their lungs, roaming around, and teachers are sitting at the desk area playing with their phones, it will only be a matter of time before things happened. So nipping the problem at the bud is better than letting the teachers get into trouble.

I think depend on the intend. If the sl or kp just purposely catch you do wrong things, thats asshole behaviour. So free find problem, . But if they genuinely want to help take out noisy students so all can learn better then i think its ok bah.

Didn't your RO communicate to you prior to giving you D? Schools are expected to communicate to staff if they are not performing to expectations during mid year review. Then, support should be given to help you improve. Only when you are unable to improve, a D grade will be given.

Having said that, if the mistake you made is related to finance or assessment, it is a more serious issue. Thus, a mistake in those areas might warrant a D grade. Nonetheless, the grade should not come unexpectedly. If yes, you can then appeal to find out the reason.

Technically I was just referring to a class where a teacher is in front actively teaching or managing the class, while some slightly more chatty students still occasionally buzz around (not move around). However, SLs are not happy about such situations.

Crazy SL. Students have a right to talk or do things in this day and age. Our days teacher threw Chalks at us if we buzz around. But times have changed. A typical teacher would not be able to control his class well without appearing on stomp.
If you throw marker pen at them, immediately you are sacked.

I don't think a D is warranted.

Either way, you can wait it out till next year.

Or u can appeal.

Both ways not going to change long term outcome.

chill chill i'm not the one who posted about the D grade :/

but there are indeed SLs that keep harping on chatty or sleepy students. imo it could be because they are still the traditional type who want classes to be quiet and attentive all the time. then if students are not (when they happen to be patrolling), they blame the teacher for not having good classroom management.

probably have to wait till climate survey comes? >:)

It is not a big matter imo. Just be more mindful next time, open eyes big big and keep a lookout for the SLs. Once or twice might not be an issue, but in the long run it might leave a negative impression on you. Walk around the class periodically to ensure that those kids at the back are on task.

If not, the problem is ppl npl 360mths then still qualify for connect plan at all the time interval?

ML is counted as working mth. But NPL is not.
So if u nv take npl, but only ml, will get in the same yr as ur peers.

Was on NPl before for a yr. Still received connecy plan same year as batch mates, but lesser amount due to it being pro-rated. Years of servicr affected though. Got my 5yr service cert a year after my peers.

How long as GEO4?

Got GEO 4 within 4yrs cuz I was keen to take up KP position back then, and I suspect I had high CEP Eventually did not take it up. Stayed as regular teacher with no major role. Have been GEO 4 for almost 4-5yrs. When do you think I can get my next promotion to GEO5?
