LH interview - help
Hi, I’m likely going for an LH interview (CL). Anyone here has any experience either as a candidate or the panel? It’s my first job so first interview ever!! 🥶
• what kind of questions should I prepare for?
• what kind of qualities do they look out for in a potential leader?
• Anything else I should prepare for?

For a farmer, roughly what age does he/she reach the salary ceiling of GEO5 (ie. $8250)?
If get C most of the time (occasionally C+, B) and no disruption like no-pay leave etc.
Around 45 years ago then maxed out all the way till retirement?

Have been wondering if there is in fact a problem with our ‘young punk’ generation and if we really do lack endurance. I don’t think it’s just a matter of lacking endurance to last in one school. I think we lack both the endurance and desire to last in the ministry. Personally I know that I won’t be able to ‘endure’ much longer. Wondering what this difference is, and I really do wonder how people (like you) have been able to last for so many decades.
Wonder if it’s that we have more access to info nowadays which makes it easier for us to switch industries / jobs. Or if there is actually something very wrong with our generation / if we are just deficient in some way.

I think its also because, with the advent of WFH arrangements in many companies, MOE HQ even has 2 days WFH every week, teaching in school, with the need to be face to face almost every day, has become relatively worse.
Its hard to even get management to agree to let teachers dress down in their workplace, they are overly obsessed with facetime even for the many meetings, since they already have to be in school.

Hi, I went for panel interview this year for HODship and 2 years ago for LH. So let me share my experience . For LH they want to know whether you are competent at supporting your HOD in leading the department (e.g. are you able to support the HOD in leading the dept to achieve a shared vision for students' learning). They will also ask you about what kind of culture you will foster in your department and school, how you will work with the HOD and some questions on how you will make learning CL and other mother tongues engaging and relevant for students. It would be helpful to refer to the KRA document on SEO1 grade (LH) expectations because all the questions that panel is likely to ask you will be based on those competencies. You can find it on MOE intranet (HR) I believe. All the best!

Hi, I would like to ask if given the offer for contract teaching in December, would it be possible to request a different assumption of duty date, e.g., February?
If I am unable to join on the date itself, given personal reasons, would rejecting the offer render me blacklisted to apply in the future? I would want the job but the timing is not right now... Please advise a lost soul, greatly appreciate the advise!

For SH, I was asked how to grow the teachers within and beyond the committee. I was also asked to justify the deployment of teachers. I was also asked about the vision I had for my portfolio and how I would grow teachers to meet the vision I had designed. They asked me why I bothered to encourage students when it could be a waste of time.
The feedback I received was that they were looking for people development, which was an area of improvement for me. The panel was intentionally hostile but I performed ok. That panel failed 2 people. So I guess it’s your luck. Hopefully, your sup is a nice person.
