Does anyone know if the starting salary of an allied educator (behavioural) is comparable to that of the average MOE teacher, if one is a fresh graduate? And what is the usual range for a first class honors?

Staring salary of AED will always be lower than average MOE teacher. Starting pay of first class hons is around 3500

I heard from a news article that there is a need for allied educators this time around given that a lot more students have been identified as requiring special needs. Is this true?

And how is the career progression like? For someone who is ambitious, is there a career ladder to look forward to?

Any idea whether MOE stills needs Economics teachers? I majored in economics so apart from economics, English and Math could be possible teaching subjects.

1) There's probably an increased need, yes.

2) I'm not so familiar with the AED salary scale and career progression so don't take my word for it; that said, my impression as a teacher in school is that there isn't really much a career ladder - if this is one of your priorities, you might want to rethink the option.

Anyone has been to MOE School counsellor interview yet? Is the interview similar to teacher’s interview with 3-4 interviewers? What kind of questions do they asked? Appreciate any sharing here.

Great thanks.
