Salary for IT SMB/Corporate Sales For Top Grad
Hi guys,
Just wanted to enquire what is the expected salary for comp sci engineering grads working in a large tech MNC (Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, McAfee, Red Hat etc) in a corporate sales role.
Profile:
Bachelor's -Double Degree (1st Class) in Comp Sci and Mathematics from NUS
Master's - Comp Sci from top tier US Uni (MIT/Stanford/Cornell/Caltech)
Work Exp - 3 mths research asst, 3 mths civil service, 3 mths biotech company
I have received an offer for 5k base and commission + allowance and was wondering if anyone can share. Thanks.
I heard banks for fresh IS/CS grads in back office already earning 5k starting. Looking at SMU IS grads salary info already see 4.9k starting. Can someone out here personally confirm? Thanks!

Why didn't you stay in the US. Is the job situation there so bad?

I dont think the job situation there is that bad, but companies are reluctant to hire people without proper US work authorisation. Many of my classmates from EU also had to return to their home countries because of this.
Also, as a yellow man over there, most of the time you will always be treated as a 3rd class citizen. Moreover, my family and friends are here. So why not return? Its not like salary over there is sky high for IT/CS grads (after factoring taxes).
