im drawing close to 10k pm in pte sector individual contributions role.
saw a role at mindef DXO manager rank
(which obviously I know is nothing managerial)

will they be able to match or bump what im currently drawing? from what im seeing only director lvl can draw 10k

dont worry, they see your salary expectations they wont shortlist u anyway

Hi Guys, HR finally asked me to submit docs (I am assuming I have been shortlisted?).

Would like to check to see if guys have any ideas:
- When should I start/need to start in order to receive the mid-year bonus/year-end bonus/PB etc. or it works on a pro-rated basis?
- Assuming no PB, can I safely assume I will get 2 months of additional bonuses every year?

Guess the pay is not as fantastic as claimed by some people here, maybe only if compared to SMEs or other civil service (not even sure on this point) Sounds like a lot of repeated rumors until it became "fact" ao

all is pro-rated. annual package you can expect is at least 15 months including PB.

no one said it is fantastic. i guess you are trying to seek some confirmation bias. MINDEF do pay slightly above other stat boards or ministries (but the gap is narrowing). But comparing to Private Sector, it is nothing. private can easily have increments ranging from 10-20%. public sector dont.

if you are the 10k guy, dont waste your time unless you can convince that you are the correct guy for the job. not impossible, but i hope with your attitude, you dont make it.

u were ask to submit docs before or after the panel interview?

Was hoping that I didn't make it either but got shortlisted. I work for pay, not for some BS higher calling whatever so the remuneration package is the most important info for me. Just going to say that the long dragged out process without an upfront package estimation despite direct requests for one is off putting and wasting everyone's time.

As much as I think MINDEF is a jiak liao bee organization, I'm glad someone like you didn't get the job. Just a waste of time. Applying to the civil service and thinking the civil service is lowballing him.

Just stay in your current job and hope you don't get fired la.
