You are definitely being assessed during the talk. The unit preview is for both sides to have a closer look especially that first round is virtual interview. If they want you, the HR will get in touch with you very soon. Or you can just call the HR for a quick enquiry.

They didn't really ask much, nothing technical at any rate. It felt more like an engagement session/get-to-know-you session, and for me to get to know the office as well.

Thanks for your reply. If I am ultimately not selected, will I be informed?

It's been three nerve-wracking days so far. Hoping HR will contact me soon.

I also went for the unit preview and there were 2 other candidates present as well. I also did a writing test at the end of the session.

I would like to ask if anyone know the salary range for fresh grad (local AU), 2nd lower, no NS? Thanks!

No, it was two directors and myself. It was quite an enjoyable chat, if I had to be honest. The only thing I felt I did not do well was to be prepared to ask questions. Fresh grad + nerves + not really knowing MINDEF meant that there was not much I thought about asking too. Thinking that may have counted against me if anything.
