The minimum term for each job is 2 years.
If you are at DX9, you can apply for another job after 2 years.
If you are good enough, the DX11 job is yours.

Hi, looking to join MINDEF DXO as a tech role, still in uni, would it be wise to send an application as early as August if I'm graduating in May? I see that the waiting time between each stage is pretty long so if I don't get in, I don't want to restart my job search so late since it is insanely difficult to find a tech job currently. I am probably applying to mainly govt/statboards, but won't put all the eggs in the same bucket.

Newly joined DXO here, yes apply early as with army style the waiting period is long. As such don't put your hopes up too high until at least receiving a verbal offer to avoid disappointment... An unexpected surprise is a much more pleasant experience mentally. Good Luck!

Don't think that's how it works, there is no "DX11 job" per se.
Every job has a "band" (e.g. Job A is meant for DX9-DX11, Job B is meant for DX12-DX13).
When you apply for and get a Job A as a DX9, you will stay as a DX9, then you have to work for your promotion to DX10 and subsequently DX11 while on that job. However, if you apply for Job B and get it as a DX9 (unlikely but just for illustration), after a probation period you will get emplaced (not promoted) to the min rank of that job which is DX12.

I interviewed for a couple of offices in Mindef, in general the 1st follow-up after applying is roughly 1 month. (Depending on the office) To do written assignment and/or other EQ/ =IQ assessments.
Afterwards, the 1st and 2nd interviews was about 2~weeks each, and there was a relatively long wait about 3 weeks as they interviewed other people. (Or so the HR claimed when I queried)
TL R:
Apply -> 1mth -> 1st follow up (tests/assignments) -> 2 weeks -> 1st interview -> 2 weeks 2nd interview -> 3-4 weeks -> HR verbal offer & negotiation.

Joined as a dx9 but honestly not enjoying it. Can veterans answer some questions I have and provide guidance pls?
- currently it is quite draining compared to previous job because no one actually talks to me. I think the uniformed personnels who are bosses just don't care about the existence of dxos. Secondary citizen vibes.
-can someone share how long promotion usually takes for dx10,11 and so on? Since it is a time based scheme after all.
I am under the impression that dxos are paid higher than other ministries but not sure if it is factual.
I do enjoy the work and can deal with the distance and red tape, but it just feels like I'm a temp worker and there's no future here. Help?

Are there leadership programs like PSLDP for dxos?

As a DX9, you shd make lots of efforts to talk to people at your workplace.
You are not a princess.
Don't look down on people coz they are less educated than you.
