It depends on the DXO job. For example, unit safety officers are required to go outfield to monitor training.
Some are uniformed and some are DXO.
Some DXO jobs require you to go outfield.
PES status could affect their decision to offer.
Your past medical history will also be a factor.

Default Career as DXO

Hi all, have been offered a Manager role for $6500. Is this competitive? Does anyone know what is the rank and salary ceiling? Also, for a normal non-scholar farmer, what is typically the highest one rank and salary one can command as a DXO?

need to know your years of relevant experience to answer if its competitve. if you have only 2 years of exp, of course its competitive.

Manager should be DX10. ceiling for mid-range DX10 is about low 7k. max is 8K+. Rank ceiling depends on job role. you can apply for DX14 if you want. for farmers, most ppl will end at DX12-13. There arent too many DX14 and above to spread around.

Anyone knows what’s the estimated wait time once the job is closed to know if I am shortlisted for interview or rejected? All my applications only state needs approval from recruiter to move forward. Is this normal? Some applications are several months back. Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi, I have 19 yoe, degree holder, currently drawing about $160k which is considered low IMO, may I know should I be applying for DD or AD posts as DXO? DX12/13/14 is DD or AD?

if is relevant experience, then might be too low for you. a fresh grad who joined MINDEF maybe 8-9 years ago could be already drawing close to or already at low 7k at DX10 level. If you want to match close to your pay in private sector, you need to apply to at least a DD post. but MINDEF DD posts are very niche and may be hard for you to get in unless MINDEF really lack the skills you have. so I suggest you aim AD posts. should net you about 120-130k pa, everything in including all bonuses (assume 8k gross per month)

DX12-13 is AD btw.
DX14-15 is DD

People already 160k pa, you suggesting him/her to take in paycut and join to take 130k pa? Where got logic? Instead, should have a pay jump to be 180k pa, right?
