Not fresh grad sia. I was offered near the cap of MX11, but based on the structure here, it feels like there's nowhere upwards to be promoted to due to limited estab. Just weighing my option

Hello! I am interested in entry-level HR admin executive roles at MINDEF.
Tried searching this thread for salary ranges and what the environment is like, but haven't found much. Would anyone be able to share please?
Thank you!

About the expected pay for Manager position in MINDEF
Hi all, I applied for a MINDEF Manager position via the impress.ai website recently and there was a question on my expected salary for the job. Because my previous job's salary was in the range of 4k+ despite having 5YOE and graduated from local U with honours degree ( i know even a fresh grad receive 4k+ as the starting pay), I probably lowballed myself by stating 5.5k for this Manager role while submitting the job application (Wasn't aware that even people with 2YOE is at least offered 5k for the same role in MINDEF). Can I ask what is the pay that I should be asking for if I ever pass the interview and the HR contact me for pay matters (Female here btw)? Is it still possible to quote a higher number for the expected salary? Thank you.

5.5k for a female grad with 5YOE sounds about right. When HR calls you to give you your verbal offer, you can ask if you can negotiate. i think it also depends on alot of factors like your relevant skills to the job you are apply for. just try.

LOL u should be happy to be even offered 5k. Honestly, are you expecting over 6k? Given that your previous job was 4k+, what makes you think 5.5k is lowballing yourself. Suggest you to look elsewhere if you are expecting a high salary.

Hi All,
Would like give back for the past tips given.
End July - Applied online
last week of August - Interview (Only 1 time)
1st week of Oct - shortlisted
1st week of Nov - Verbal offer and Submission of documents
1st week of Dec - G50 submission
1st week of Jan - G50 Cleared
2nd week of Jan - Sign LOA
Applied for exective role so maybe the process take quite alot of time especially the G50. It took 6 weeks to clear(Most prob dec, many people clearing leave).
The wait is long but must endure!!
Good luck to everyone to join DXO as a family! Happy 2024!!

Hello, any data scientists working/who have worked for MINDEF kind enough to share some insights on your job and future career prospects?
I came across the MINDEF Data Scientist job posting. Just wondering would it still be easy to return to the private sector tech jobs after spending a long time in MINDEF? Heard that it is best to consider taking up MINDEF positions only if one is willing to stay put and work here until retirement (?). Would it be better to apply for data scientist roles in the other government agencies instead?
31y.o. M here, worked as a data scientist for a tech startup for 3 years before I was retrenched in Dec last year, and looking around for similar roles.
