if its CAT 1, it would be longer and you will need to drop by the dept physically for a brief.

can u share more about urself - like gender, degree (and class if you have), degree from where and how many years experience.
like that i can tell u DX9 ranges from 2k salary all the way to 6k.
usually local grad can expect 3.5k onwards.

hope this estimations helps.

for unis, i wouldn't say favor, but as per anywhere in the world, the better uni you go, the perception that they have more rigorous standards as compared to overseas uni like in aussie. this is a function of local unis being ranked higher and more reputable in the world. I'm sure they have some guidelines. i know someone who was hired who was from aussie uni, was paid lower than local uni grads, with all other things equal.

i pressume you are the same guy with the icon. ya, i think current rate dropped; one of my guys in my dept was offered around there (~4 for FCH M) that joined recently.

should be around there, they might add 100-200 bucks for your experience if relevant to the job from the baseline grad salary.
sadly the govt favour local unis first; unless your overseas degree came from an ivy league or those top britain universities.

yep my experience is relevant to the job, in that case possibly from 3.7k -3.9k range. Hm, sounds good to me, although I do know that compared to my peers I am earning lesser, but didn't expect a high paying salary anyway going into CS
