Its a question which only that HR is able to tell you if you are selected. It works same as private companies, what value u have, what budget they have, how badly they want you. Only difference is gov got loads of applications due to current covid climate.

A point for your consideration: sometimes MINDEF HR dept might be stretched and they don’t respond within the timeframe they stipulated (been like this for myself and some of my friends). We got the job offers in the end.

How many candidates does MINDEF usually see at the unit preview/2nd interview stage?

I applied for a DXO position on 27May. It’s nearly a month and nothing heard. I tend to think that should I have some chance to be shortlisted for interview, they would have called me up by now. Should I give up waiting? Fresh FCH here.

The rest of the applications for public service still in process with no interview, all also around one month Liao. But I have a private offer and very headache to accept or not because benefits not as good as public/civil service.

Anyone went to a site preview where there was another candidate at the same time? How was it? How do you know if you are their first choice?
