typical civil service pay ranging from 3 - 4ish. Most roles pay the in that range depending on degree class. First class seems be getting slightly over 4 these days, while a 3rd class could be around 3.3-3.6ish for an autonomous uni's degree, while a degree from SIM is worth 2.7-3ish?
Also to an earlier question:
I think MINDEF differentiates pass and 3rd class. Each increment in a degree class seems be around $150 which is pretty standard across civil service.
Defence has a little higher budget, so it can pay higher than compared to rest of civil service on average.

Hi All,
Any idea how long is the waiting time from site preview to verbal job offer then contract signing?
How about the medical check up process?
Many thanks.

If you aren’t selected for the interview, will they send an email? Only asking because some companies really didn’t send.
And it’s been 4ish weeks since my PT, so i want to be mentally prepared lol.

Waiting time can be from 1 day to 3 weeks, depending how much they want you. If you are not their first choice then it may take awhile for them to offer to the 1st, 2nd then if they all reject then to you. Usually if you within the 1st week, then you happen to be their first choice candidate!
Verbal offer to contract signing takes about 1-2 months depending on how fast you are, and how busy they are. Takes awhile for them to process and finalise a package for you. Medical can be scheduled soon after the offer, usually the following week. The bulk of the time is for the security clearance which may take 1-2 as a process itself. So that usually takes the longest while you will the waiting with health check.

In general no news means good news. After 4 weeks just drop them an email to ask about status

Yup, hopefully. I did that, they said they would contact me this week but no news and it’s friday. So...
Anyway i think it’s more likely their first choice candidate is probably taking a long time to make a decision or something like that

Yes, usually that is the case. The first choice candidate is still considering on whether to take up the job as he/she might have other better offers eleswhere. I got offered last time once the other candidate turned it down.

Private sector to DXO?
Been working in private banking for past 7 years. NS CO asked me if I want to apply for DXO job. Isn’t DXO a downgrade from uniform? Currently serving reservist in an OC appointment. Don’t know how I feel about it after reading all the pay scales on offer.
