DXO Job Locations

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how the job locations for DXO is decided? How do I know if certain jobs are based in CMPB or camps?

Thanks!

Yes I would love to know how the locations are chosen as well, some of them are too far from home but it’s not possible to tell during the initial job application period

Hi there i do understand every estab got different salary scale but i would like to check with u all the MINIMUM/LOWEST i can expect to get..

assuming im applying for a manager position, not sure if it is DX9, I graduated from suss and lets just ASSUME that among all the local university,it is ranked LAST.. My degree dont have a honours system, only got pass or pass with merit so lets just treat as i only get PASS,no full time work experience also.

Which means most likely im getting the lowest among the salary scale for dx9 and how much would i receive most likely? I've completed NS also. Does 3k BASIC per month sounds okay for a dx9 position based on whatever i have mentioned above (ranked last local uni, Degree with PASS, NO work experience)? or still can ask for higher.

based on experience, you can expect to get about 3.5k onwards. about 100 more per each class. 300 more for NS. but however, i get the sensing that HR is lowballing new entrants recently. so not sure as my info is about 3-4 years ago.

unfortunately, you wont be able to tell during job application. only when you passed the PT and reach the interview stage, then you will know exactly is your job scope and location. these are for security reasons i guess.

the thing about gov is that they don't lowball you. And as a precaution, do not add in NS exp in your expected salary. To be safe, stating lower at 2.8k will be good, but you will be getting more than that

Concurr. So it means you don't know the precise work location and scope until 2-4 weeks after PT.

If u have no transport and the camp is far - most are inconvenient - you may be asked the golden question--are you willing to travel.
Actually be glad they ask. Some just don't shortlist you, especially fresh grad. No experience to offer yet high risk of lateness and resignation.

My unofficial data collection, dx9 2.6k for the most plain vanilla pass degree with national service. Do note that it's public servant scheme, slightly different from private sector calculation.

People without amazing qualification should steer clear from public sector. Their benchmark weighting is heavy on paper qualification.

oh. 3.5k for pass degree, no work experience and also excluding ns added amount for dx9?

That sounds alot. but then at the same time, some say is 2.6 some is 2.8 but i believe each job position got their own salary scale right? Like for eg, if its 3k, u ask for 2.8, they will still give u 3k because thats the lowest point (3k, and there is also a highest point) in the salary scale under its policy, cannot anyhow give so sure got one amount is the correct one.

but if its 3.5 for a hr position then quite worth because HR degree holders, no work exp can only start as a HR recruiter first. Usually hr jobs on job portals, only hr recruiter can join as no experience. No such thing as hr learning and development entry level job,no experience needed or compensation and benefits specialist, no work experience needed.
Also, hr recruiter dont really require a degree (o level cert also can be one) to be one (something like marketing/business cert, dont need marketing cert to do marketing etc) so no exp hr recruiter job for degree usually is around 1.8 to 2k basic.

so if its 3.5, thats like two times more sia ,the salary (1.8 x2)

Sadly I somewhat agree

I agree. I also feel that mindef low ball new entrants recently. My ex boss in stat board shared with me that directive since 2017 was to make it difficult and unattractive to join public service as SME are suffering from shortage of workers.

How many people are glad to take 3k and work 10-12 hours a day with no guarantee of 13th month or bonus?

But on the flip side, I still hear of people getting 4k with minimum exp for programming and financial jobs in public service so, could be demand and supply. Could also be ego inflated numbers.
