hey fresh undergrad here. my security clearance started on mid Oct, followed up with the HR on late Oct and was told that I am just pending final processing before an offer can be made and that I have already cleared all the interviews.
Messaged HR on mid Dec again to ask how long more it would take. they said that another HR person should get back to me shortly and also apologised for the wait. But to date, no contact from the supposed HR person. total time I've waited for the security clearance would be 2.5 months already, is this normal? I'm worried that after waiting for so long, I'll end up being rejected - or should I be comforted by the comms given by HR thus far? thanks! |

For those who went for interview. Was it virtual or in person and how many interviews before they start the security clearance?

All in all, it should fall within the range of anything between 2 months to 4 months. For your case it had been 2.5 months and you should probably be hearing from HR soon anytime from now to the 4th month mark. Once cross 4th month, probably not very hopeful as it shouldnt take too long as most average clearance takes 2-4 months if you ask around (nothing confidential about this). |

Dec (even early Jan) is usually a quiet month where people are clearing their annual leaves so that may delay things further and Oct was also when COVID cases hit their peak so you can imagine how that has affected the workflow. if anything, communicate with the HR people - they are more than happy to help you. all the best! |

2-6 months is the actual period one should look at, So 2 person here says Oct starts, so fastest will be Dec, slowest will likely be Apr (New FY, but unlikely, should rush by Feb or so). all the best new peeps |

continue your job or just accept another offer while waiting for the long lead time....afterall this kind of things are not confirmed until u r cleared...think of ur loans to be paid...

lead time is long, so if cannot wait pls look for other opportunities |

Want to try again after failing clearance
Hi, wondering if I can apply for MINDEF again even though I failed Cat 2A MSD clearance? I really have no idea why I failed - no foreign family nor any records (even kept a clean record in school)... wonder if it's due to some outdated family information that I did not declare during G50? If so, it is possible to try again? And after how long can I try again?
|
Was asked to attend the polygraph test - any idea how far is this into the application process? This came after the interview.
