Must look at the total annual pay, some companies have different bonus and benefits. Cannot just look at basic salary all the time.

even in my company

a "A" performer, when you promote, you get 8% max for just for promotion only

Because I read the average in Singapore is 4.5%. Not sure how accurate it is..
