Your question is asking who owns/controls gic and not what does gic means, right?
If you are asking for ownership or control, someone has answered above.
Anyway, the full name used to be Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

GIC pay is pegged to local banks' back offices, so don't expect much. Fresh grad 4k. It is not competitive compared to tech firms unless your value is dubious in the first place.
They have recently doubled down on increasing bureaucracy, so expect more rubber stamping jobs created and waiting for your forms to be rubber stamped each week.

Currently in first round interview for a entry level role 1-3 years in their middle office role (one of the roles in the Risk departments) and I must say that the office is incredibly grand. Blown away by the austerity. Was interviewed by the line manager and 1 HR lady.

Sorry did a google search - exactly the opposite of what I was trying to say. I meant it was grand. Really posh - then again, doubt that's really surprising to anyone.

The word is opulence, bro. You really cmi.
Then again your total lack of econs knowledge may prove to be a blessing.
For eg when imf mandates austerity to the eurozone crisis, you will interpret as monetary expansion, and hence embark on the right policy.
