Hi there! I received an unsuccessful outcome email a few weeks ago. I saw that the Untrained School Counsellor position has opened up again.

Anyone managed to get an interview for the July window?

Unregistered 07-09-2021 10:56 PM

I went for the School Counsellor (untrained) opening that was in April and was selected for interview in June / July. Thought I did pretty ok for interview but eventually was not selected as the HR said they found more suitable candidates. Funny thing is right after that the application window opened again. I applied again and was straightaway rejected. Lol. Don't even know whats the reason (I'm currently working in public sector in Stat Board FYI)

Moe hiring process for sch counsellor takes a really long time.
Mine was a few yrs back but it goes like this..

Interview in march
Confirmation in late august
Bond signing in sept
Training from oct

This was precovid.

From march - august, no news, just waiting game.

Sch counselling interview is stringent.
Honestly, the interview made me doubt my capabilities.
Grilled and roasted me.

But after going through training and dealing with the ground, I understand why.

All the best to everyone!

Untrained school counsellor

How many weeks between the first and second interview?

kurashi 14-10-2021 09:42 AM

MC range and job title?

Hi

anyone from MOE, who understands the job hierarchy well can shed some light ?

I do see, senior head, manager, senior manager, Assistant director, etc., may I ask which how does the hierachy work?

Lets say, I am career switching to senior head role, what will be the most probable salary range?

Untrained School Counsellor

I attended an "MOE School Counsellor Information Session" on 16 Dec 2021.

I am trained in social services, majored in sociology and early childhood, yet only got a 'thanks for applying' letter. Maybe it's age though I didn't state it as it's not relevant to my interest or ability. There was at least one inspiring story from a minority counsellor that inspired me. But they all seemed pretty young.

After the info session, it appears that the position is more like a para social worker without calling it that. They expect home visits to be done.

I thought they would hire anyone they could get for this role since the pay sucks. Tough luck.

based on the timeline, seems like interviews will stretch till end of jan.

but i think it would include both first n second interviews.

so second interview should be coming soon for those who are shortlisted?

Pay is so-so but the stakes are high. Hire poorly and ruin the future of our nation.

Unregistered 07-02-2022 01:52 PM

What is the usual salary for ICT manager in school? Also what is the progression after that?

Already emailed. HR replied that applicants can expect to receive outcome within 4-6 weeks after the interview. If next Friday still no news, I’ll take it that I got rejected >.<

Is it common for government jobs HR to inform applicant that he or she is rejected? Or there will just be no updates?

wow that's pretty long but at least there's a timeline for us to roughly gauge! thanks for sharing :)

mm from what I read on the official website, it stated that "If your application is unsuccessful, we will inform you via email. Alternatively, you can check your application status anytime via Careers@Gov". So I think either way we will receive an email of the outcome.

Jiayou to both of us!! :)

Generic mx scheme in moe

I got an offer in MOE hq under the generic mx scheme. However I noticed most of the pple in MOE are on specialist track mostly teachers posted there or ex teachers. Does anyone know if progression for generic scheme will be behind these specialists? Are the AD/Sad/dd positions in MOE hq all filled by teachers?
