I dun think a AD in public sector is senior at all. Most public sector unit recruit fresh degree graduates straight away as either Manager or AD.
This Amy Cheong must be a low performer because she is 30++ already when she join NTUC as AD. Since she is female and foreigner no need to serve NS, by right she should be AD by ~26 yrs old. |
NTUC no choice but to play along. if they tell the truth that Amy is just a junior staff, the public will accuse them for cover up , better for them to pretend with the act. but anyone who work with gov before know how “big” a AD really is.

AD pay is just 4-6k, that's the pay of jr associate in pte companies, bullsheet title.

Constantly update to big boss to show doing work. A lot of boot licking, don't know anything also can, when boss around, just try to talk louder. Just saw one guy just under 5 years, jump 2 grades (non-scholar) to management track. So long as the boss like you, you will climb regardless. Some more, this guy, time to time, you can see him snoozing off in his chair, playing games, watching online videos. |
whats a management track there?

May i check the career prospect in IDA and the salary range for 2nd upper and lower? Are they commanding the same pay as DSTA ? Since it is on the engineer scheme too. How's the work hour and other flexible benefits ? Thank you ! PS: From DSTA thread salary for fresh graduate engineer that came in this month: with ns 1st class = 4270 2nd upper = 3970 2nd lower = 3770 |

Currently I'm a Year 4 undergrad and my expected graduation date should be in May 2014. Would it be a little kiasu to start applying to DSTA as their application process take quite long as mentioned by several forumers.
Last but not least, what is the pay scale of IDA for fresh grad? Does she pay the same amount as DSTA? And how's the prospect between working in IDA and DSTA? IDA seem more like a consultant role and DSTA seems like a more technical role. |

Curious
Hi, I would like to know more about the culture. Is it pro-family? Do people slogged like nuts? I'm recently shortlisted for an AM position, is it the lowest being in IDA? Will I get trampled all over and kena all sorts of sai gang?
|

get trampled? it all depends on your deptarment etc... guess not only in IDA but true for all places. |
Hi guys,
Can i check in IDA the lowest "rank" for a fresh graduate is consultant, executive or others? I'm applying a consultant job and may i check what is the pay that i will be expecting? Is IDA a good place to start my career? I don't see myself as a very technical person i hope IDA isn't some hardcore programming agency. |
Is the benefits and bonus at IDA good?
Hi,
May I know if: 1. the grading system at IDA is the same as other govt agencies. ie. MSO & MX scheme? 2. the variable bonus paid by IDA to employees good? Or follows civil service? 3. the employee benefits good? 4. Annual leave for the various employment grades? 5. the performance appraisal system is tedious? 6. working hours? 7. the people at IDA are nice? Thanks. |
Manager, early 40, $8k per mth gross. (not including bonus).
|
What does it mean to say that one is a scholar or non-scholar? By scholar, does it mean that someone who has graduated from a local uni?

Job grade: MX11 Job title: Manager, Assistant Director Pay scale: S$4,100 – S$6,160 / S$6,161 – S$7,190 Job grade: MX12 Job title: Assistant Manager, Manager Pay scale: S$2,550 – S$5,130 |
Ida is a stat board and doesnt use MX scheme.

Maybe I am misreading... but how much does an assistant manager (fresh grad with second upper) get in IDA?
How about the bonus? |
I notice IDA seems to have 2 types of job titles (career tracks?): managers and consultants.
So managers and senior managers are in management track doing project management, contract, procurement, recruitment and vendor management? And consultants and senior consultants are in technical track doing the engineering work? In term of compensation, are management track paid better than technical track in IDA with same experience? |

Some questions:
what is the typical timeframe to get AD and/or DD at IDA? How much does Senior mgr, AD, DD expect to get per month? roughly... How is the career progression like in IDA? Senior manager is considered senior executive? |
Quote:
There have been two revisions in feb 2012 and aug 2014. |

I heard that getting AD and DD in IDA isn't that easy. However, getting to senior manager is almost guaranteed. |
