7-9k is more like a VP's pay at a local bank. Anyone can confirm?

I can confirm base pay for avp at a local bank is in that range. Vp pay is $10 to $14k.

No way, I was AVP for DBS under liabilities management & reporting more than 3 years ago and was already drawing close to 9k then. I’m sure it’s close to 10k by now already.

In short I had 2 years of non-related experience and 4 years of related experience before joining DBS as AVP. I personally never know anyone that take 8 to 10 years to reach AVP, it is quite a junior role. A HR colleague I was close to in DBS was already a VP in her early 30s but I don’t know if she is fast track or the average.

i have a couple of friends in ops, and they are still manager (above associate, am but below avp) after 8 years. Looks like they better look for a way out!
But pay not bad compared to the engineers in our jc cohort... About $6k+.

Tell your kids never do engineering. I recommend that Singapore should just close down all the engineering faculties, and ravamp the maths subject from P1 to JC2 to "financial maths".

my fren no honors, 3 yrs exp, still analyst, back office at GIC... earning $6k a mth, annual package is above $100k...
it is possible but must work the right companies and the right positions...
some just persue banking and finance blindly, go be stock broker end up its just selling and drawing $2k+ pay before commission... or they join some trading firm that wants them to pay these ppl to pay for the course as 'training'
To All:
dun be greedy... life is not abt work and pay... thats why u see ppl in banking quit and teach some poly job with much lower pay... I think I am doing quite ok for my age but is abit quite tired of the corporate lifestyle and the various back stabbing and politics... Eye bags getting worse, hair getting lesser, can't slp well at night... looking forward to some time in the future when I can truly escape it all...

Now we even hear "friends" who can make more than $100k with just 3 years experience in a back office job.
Seriously the stories just get more and more fantastic. Keep them coming!
