My understanding is tax managers do pay higher than audit managers as their responsibilities are much higher. Tax managers need to sign off correspondences to clients/IRAS while F/S are being signed off by audit partner only. That is also why tax people take longer time to be promoted to managers (i.e. 2-4 years) unlike audit people which normally takes only 1 year.

I believe different salaries for male and female. If I am not wrong, guys get $200 more.

4 letter one pays stratified salary as mentioned previously (2.900, 3,000, 3,100), according to class of degree.

That's the thing, I heard that big 4 pays more for NS contributions.
In fact, this isn't something that is exclusive to the civil service. In Shell, an O&G MNC, guys also get paid.
