They just need to flush out the toxic ones who will eventually leave by themselves and things will be back to normal in the next few cycles once pandemic is over.
Those silly fresh grads looking to join big 4 remind me of the geeks from nightmare alley.

As they tear off the heads of chickens with their mouths they utter proudly, Mister I was born for it

Now is the best time to pwn them back by working from 9 to 6, switch off laptop after 6pm and don't work on weekends. They will not sack you during peak period because they are severely understaffed. Cannot meet deadline then too bad lor cause it is the partner & SM who will get the blame. Client unhappy then ask them change auditor lor since the firm is unable to provide exceptional client service.

That's when seniors quit the job. Disproportional responsibilities vs title/exp/pay

They can simply ask you to work in office la. You mean you dare to refuse OT on the spot everyday? Don’t be a coward and say in forum only hor. Make it big and we shall wait for the news to spread.

There are people asked to leave the firm, just that you have not experienced it.

Don’t overestimate your importance. They can simply get an intern to do your vouching work and kick you out. Now the VTLs are in place, our hungry northern neighbours are salivating at the 1:3 rate and they can’t wait to get out of their flooded states. They were already stuck for the past two years.

Is it only some? That has been the trend for the longest time, which is why it is not a sustainable lifestyle.

i think if this is in the 80-90s when accounting is still relatively a well paid profession, is justifiable.

Now? fresh graduate in audit get 3k, work like mad dog promote to senior consultant, congrats finally u making the same as your friend in infosystem who may get 3.8 GPA but working in a tech firm and OT maybe once or twice a week only. by then if your friend is good, he may be promoted to small team head and earning a solid 6-7k le

today, experience + promotion speed + pay from big 4 is just not as attractive, but ok now they gang up with ISCA so its harder for people outside to get CPA.

if anyone want to be CPA and earn peanuts
