The concept of Auditing is a relic of the 20th century. Numerous very high profile audit failures in the UK, EU, USA and China have shown that it is incapable of fulfilling its role in providing crucial info for the efficient operation of the financial markets.
It is high time for regulatory reform to replace this outmoded system with something else.
