partner probability also depends on your luck, if you are around partner level and there is a partner retiring, good chance you will get to move up. if you see your partners all young guys, then no chance for you la. no different from civil service, if the top dont leave, no position for you.

Has the manager's pay been reducing??? When I left big 4 four years ago, my first year pay as manager is 7,300...

That's not a joke unless audit actually pays way below tax.

My understanding is tax managers do pay higher than audit managers as their responsibilities are much higher. Tax managers need to sign off correspondences to clients/IRAS while F/S are being signed off by audit partner only. That is also why tax people take longer time to be promoted to managers (i.e. 2-4 years) unlike audit people which normally takes only 1 year.

4 letter one pays stratified salary as mentioned previously (2.900, 3,000, 3,100), according to class of degree.

all others, 2,850.

I thought only civil service pays guys more for NS?

I think all 4 firms basic pay 2850-2900. The 4 letter one pays +100 for second upper, +200 for fch. The other firms pay the basic regardless on honours.

Do correct me if i'm wrong!

That's the thing, I heard that big 4 pays more for NS contributions.

In fact, this isn't something that is exclusive to the civil service. In Shell, an O&G MNC, guys also get paid.
