Leaving as S2 or S3

I currently just got promoted to S2 in EY audit. Hoping to work in Canada/Australia in 2023, and I'll most probably have to continue audit there first in order to gain their local experience.

Do you guys think I should grind one more year to become S3 (AM) or leave as S2 in early 2022 and join commercial for 1 year? Which will be more attractive to an employer?

Hmm my 2 cents would be to go for commercial now.

If you have 3 full years of working audit experience, that seems to be good enough.

A 4th year wouldn’t be noticeably more, unless you stuck around for a full 5 years.

5 years audit >= (3 years audit + 1 year commercial) > 4 years audit.

Yes. Ngl, EY's plan of increasing the salary worked for me (bit of a golden handcuff now) . Was intending to jump soon after hitting the 2 year mark in advisory but the comp for the exit options are less attractive than before now.

Your dignity is so cheap that this level of salary is enough to win you over?
