The CA itself is useless. Dosent mean anything in sg. Literal poly grad can join with no uni degree and work as accountant

For those who can’t spell (or bitch) and don’t know why people choose CA for.

Anyone can pass if they study
Either we topup with MBA or CFA or die in the competition or pivot out
Hate it when there’s ‘qualification inflation’

We don't care and don't want to fund those mumbo jumbo extra-CCAs or research or youth club nonsense that ISCA is involved, that only serve to further the careers of those priveleged members there (when they should be more time on their own job, instead of skiving and "self-marketing"). In fact, these activities should be funded by the government / committee members / accountancy partners since they have an strong interest to see the local business sector grow with better accountancy. If they are not here to protect the existing members of the accountancy society like those doctors / lawyer societies, then why should existing members foot a large part of the bill to benefit Singapore or rather government interest. What's ACRA doing?

I think key decisions like the ‘Polytechnic Pathway Program’ should be made via online referendum.
Those inside ISCA council forget that mere mortals are relying on CA qualification for ricebowl.
It will get to a point where CA SG holders will need to demonstrate their competency by placing their university degree classification next to their CA SG designation inside their namecards lol
CFA charterholders are drawing 2.5 times more salary than CPA USA credential holders. Why would anyone do CA SG now? CFA fees are negligible
s://.cfainstitute.org/programs/cfa-program/careers/credential-comparison
ISCA only had one job and that is to promote CA SG as the top tier accountants to businessmen. To make RJC/ RI students fight each other to enter accountancy lol

Most sg companies actually hire the cheapest accountancy staff in face of rising costs
The polytechnic diploma CA stands to benefit the most

Need Advice: Binance vs BB Back Office
Hello everyone,
I’m currently facing a dilemma and wasn’t sure where to post this, so I hope to get some insights from people in the relevant industry. I’m a fresh graduate with two job offers and struggling to decide which one to take.
Both roles have similar job scopes and responsibilities, but the key differences are:
- Binance: Fully remote (5 days), higher salary (~500sgd more/month), risky industry (?)
- Bulge Bracket Bank (BB) – Back Office: Lower salary, full work-from-office, but with a more structured environment and brand name.
While I value the work-life balance from Binance, I’m unsure if forgoing a BB name for my first job would be a mistake, especially considering career stability and long-term progression. Would love to hear thoughts from those in the finance industry - what factors should I prioritize, and how might this decision impact my future career prospects? Appreciate any advice!

This reeks of a similar tone as the Singapore Island Country Club members upset over proposed 'second-class membership'.
