We cannot rely on foreign MNCs all the time in times of regionalisation. Companies will setup shop elsewhere.

Surely why didn't LHL's government realise that LKY's strategy in 1965 need to adapt for more variations.

Bring on the local companies to setup shop in SG, trade regionally and globally while maintaining CSR to primarily hire locally from local pool of talents.

Otherwise i foresee a bigger wealth divide after SEZ where existing entrepreneurs get wealthier and workers get a smaller pie of the economic pie thus creating a bigger loss for the existing PAP government

Many companies are deriving plenty of revenue of SG since the standard of living is high over here. However, with 6.5 million population it is still insufficient to support a network of highly paid professionals(in accountancy) with open door population thus we need more wealthier billionaires to migrate over here.

Government could give out extra indirect tax rebates to Companies in lieu of BEPS using the funds from only existing wealthy immigrants instead of absorbing middle class economic refugees.

Problem with regionalisation is our immediate neighbours are poor countries unlike Switzerland which is surrounded by wealthy countries so our regionalisation drive is limited in terms of prospects. This also partially explains why salaries can never match up to Switzerland.

IRAS and Tan See Leng needs to come together and work out measures to solve the salary stagnation issue for accountancy once elections are over this year.
not really, i've audited so many companies and singapore's revenue is actually usually not the top in asia, let alone sea. exceptions are the companies that don't need volume, but the margins in sg is poorer. sg is just the hq for tax reasons and the fact that ang moh CEO only like safe and sanitized asia aka singapore for their posting. it's a bit hard to justify these days now that sg tax has a global minimum now, it's like setting up your hq in brunei or something imo

This is one of the reasons why SG facing so many issues as people are scared to venture out of comfort zone.

Taiwan have TSMC, Nvidia, Yahoo, ASUS, ACER, HTC, Tern Bicycles & Foxconn etc

Singapore = ??

Why are we so conservative in terms of business approach?
local uni grads claim they are so superior but cannot produce anything worthwhile. wake up, if a population has 1% geniuses, a larger country will have more geniuses than sg.

Dont think of how much lawyers and doctors getting paid and they have no peak period can liao….compared to how underpaid you are

I tend to have intrusive thoughts during peak period

There was this lady called Carolyn Davidson who drew the Nike tick logo aka casting checkmark…her work is worth 3 million USD today and she used 18 hours in timecost for it

Or Justin Bieber who got paid 10 million USD for 1 night of performances for an Indian Billionaire’s wedding
