Nowadays the industry very cui and toxic
Resources limited and audit salary is not competitive compared to other industries like IT and bioscience/pharmaceuticals
You cannot blame auditors for being short tempered and arrogant

Nowadays alot of companies rely on auditors to do adjusting entries
Simply dont give a f*** about maintaining schedules or workings for true and fair FS!
Im paying you $$ so you must sign off & cannot qualify the accounts!
Many many pages of AJE and its now auditors duty to maintain true and fair fs!
and no audit fee increase for the next 10 FY
Do audit will be very pek chek (hokkien)

To add on audit salaries also lose to shipping, banking & oil and gas
Even for most non big 4 audit partners salary also slightly lose out in salary compared to top property and top financial consultants besides worklife balance
This is ignoring salary comparisons with medicine and law
