Or is it one of those passive methods, where oh nobody’s directly say you have to work public holiday, but you need to submit some work by next week and the only day left is a holiday?

CFO/Partner or non CFO/Partner tier, we are too beta to decide what is right or wrong for us already

Thats why everyone in this industry is burning out fast

There are still companies literally out there operating like a sweatshop

If we want to adopt a western oriented society, then
our salaries and work culture should be like a western society and not meagre aspects to suit one own’s convenience

What industry? Tech? If tech, you are probably too late liao. Its oversaturated today. There are tons of STEM fresh grads with plenty of internship experiences today. Not like 10 years ago everyone shuns STEM like pariah. There was a short supply before covid. Now you have to fight desperate STEM fresh grads + foreign talents.
