But you still need a lot of people to do the groundwork. Where can you find enough local university accountancy graduates to handle all the fieldwork? You can't limit the talent pool to just local universities.

The projected career path is tied to lifetime revenue for the firm
Even though associate does brainless work that nobody wants to do but partner can create expansion & jobs besides incremental revenue

But people are beginning to realise the system is quite toxic especially with elistist mindset
The industry demands certain % of accountants to sustain businesses, whether good or bad with FRS/SSA
If we use the lifetime revenue approach and to measure everyone else in dollars and cents, the whole system will make it non viable for people to continue in accountancy
People dont want to adopt a sustainability people.
The culture & environment keeps demanding that you OT, 1 person do 3 person work, juggle WLB with further exams, take on needless CPE/MBA/CFA to better oneself , go against competition by taking up roles in outside world
End of the day businesses suffer as a result and problem comes back into one circle
Alot of accountants not encouraging their kids to join this industry

I've met a few ppl from midtier who came over to big 4. They got demote 1lvl, but after stay 1 yr, promoted, so no issue. They oso prefer big 4 - higher salary and got the name on resume
anyway, their knowledge n exposure is not as much and they dont know how to use the canvas/aura all those. demote is for their survival so they can still got ppl teach them, and can adapt. if they not demote, then ppl expect them to know everything they oso burnout and cannot survive

You just need to know enough. you don’t need to be a walking FRS to make partner. for that you can join professional practice department. if you are a partner now you and you can admit one person into partnership. a walking FRS? or someone who can consistently bring in business. don’t beleive all partners are as technical as you think. but they can identify an accounting issue from a mile away and know when to consult. it’s two very different things.
