Consulting firm IA will have slightly better WLB as compared to EA. However, this role is still a front facing role. Can be tiring too.
In-house IA are those in-house back office role, doing IA for your own company. This have better WLB, but progression slowed significantly.
IA is just better of the 2 poop hole.

big4 IA is considered as "consulting" IA. Progression is similar to EA.
The good thing is there is no peak period as it really depends on the projects on hand. If there is a sudden surge in clients, u will have more work to do.
Good thing is we dont need to read all the useless audit standards. But a good understanding of controls is needed to audit any business processes.
Bad thing is it is still an audit, just that you dont touch financials that often. Exit opportunity is decent but it slows significantly after u go out to be in-house.

Is really sad some of my colleagues are resigning during this period as we are commencing the audit jobs for June. Hopefully their resignation would not affect my career path.

It’s okay, maybe your colleagues are happy to leave you and the company.
