To clarify, I mean that I perceive the title of ďex big 4 audit managerĒ as more powerful than ďCA SGĒ in terms of securing opportunities locally.

I can see it being helpful to the juniors though.

YeaÖ and now Big 4 don't require managers to have accounting professional qualifications. (Except Sm)

For my ex-firm, there were talks about making it mandatory to be qualified prior to promoting to manager.

But this talk never crystalised, because there were concerns on the implementation and transition. (ie unfair to suddenly announce and screw over the current S2/S3 who donít have time to clear papers before being due for promotion), and also all the mid joiners who would be unaware of the requirement. Also, foreigners would likely be less interested in the local membership, despite ISCA best efforts at driving global recognition.

When the talks were about to pick up, the pandemic happened which delayed the plans further. Then after pandemic, the shortfall in accountancy graduates and new recuits means there were other priorities.

Iím not sure of any recent developments - maybe others can share.

Not sure if this will fall on deaf years on a generation focused on instant gratification but itís worth a shot.
ok but other people are earning high starting in their 20s already, and continue to earn 200k until retirement.

whereas you start earning 10k at 40 years old? miss out on 15 years of savings already

With the insane house prices these days, the younger generation thinks they have to earn a lot at a young age to be ready to settle down before they're too old to have kids. If houses cost 50k, I also don't care if I earn 3k or 5k.

Actually apart from being a hypocrite, heís fine. Willingly spend less time with his family, come to sg and take up the jobs we dw to do. Heís also rightfully ashamed of his msia work experience that he deleted it off his linkedin😂

You got main character syndrome ah? So confident you can be the 1% to make it to the top?

If you weren't even close to Dean List material in school, doubt you can be partner material at work.
