Exactly... these poor big 4 souls trying to justify that they have made the right choice by showering themselves with fiction haha

Lol don’t bother with them. They are obviously underperformers if they think 6-7 yrs is required to reach a manager level. Bottom line is, you are gonna earn pretty much the same in either BO in banks or in audit, with years of experience being equal.

Please don’t.

Banks BO/MO graduate programmes start at 4.5k on average and after 6-7 years these graduates would move on to VP (or at least at senior AVP level) earning 10k p.a. Better work life balance and bonuses as well (dependent on team — compliance averages 3 months)

lol funny how you choose to believe “HR” at a career fair who aren’t even auditors; instead of believing people who are working as auditors themselves. Yes, 5 years is the usual progression required to make it to manager level in big 4

Unless you’re midjoiner from some mid tier firm or from Malaysia. or you’re just plain horrible in your work. then it will delay the process

5 years to climb from Assoc 1 -> Assoc 2 -> Snr Assoc 1 -> Snr Assoc 2 -> AM 1 -> AM 2 -> M 1?

Not from audit by hearsay that you gotta work 1 year in each rank before you promote (if you don't screw up). Seems like will reach M only in the 7th year?

1 year 1 promo if you consistently perform well (eg have a smile on your face, angkat bola + do 60-80hrs a week) if no covid.

Keep in mind all this while you’re severely underpaid (even if you reach M)

Am I missing something? Regardless whether it’s 5, 6 or 7 years to make manager - what’s the big deal earning 6k+ at the start of your 6th/7th/8th year?

Still dam little in my book
