I think you’re super off.. your analytics skills no good.
Probably not a single Malaysian here, they have another forum. If you go there see see, you will notice their talking style, lingo, and topics of interest all very different from us.
Here I notice a lot of old bird talking about things which are relevant and factual but relating to a different era, like maybe 5 years ago.
Nobody talking about the recent news or town halls announcement lol.

Attrition rate is calculated by # of people resigning divided by average number of employees including new joiners and interns. It's not % of existing employees who resigned.
We got like hundreds of interns every 2-3 months so no surprises it's low this year. We aren't really hiring A1s and seniors anymore after all, bosses prefer interns over A1 since you can make them happy by telling them that they can start as A2 once they graduate.

When calculating the fees just put AMs and Seniors so can rip off more audit fees from clients. Just claim got complex areas but then when job start, just use Associates or interns to finish off the job

Yeah some firms dont even check their auditors' role and job title and just get ripped off because they thought they are getting a more senior person at big 4 to do their audit.

I've seen the list of new intakes and yes, A1s dropped while interns ballooned. Is it any surprise the attrition rate dropped? Interns cost like 20% of a full time staff, you can hire 3 and still save $$$. The headcount got a gigantic boost because of it. Not sure why they even bother because no one cares about attrition rate and they can't get foreigners even if they have the quota anyway since the minimum salary requirement goes up with age and audit pay is too low to overcome that. Maybe partners are just cashing out or they are delusional in thinking their data analytics nonsense can help the audit since these dumbasses clearly have never heard of GIGO.

LOL the data analytics bull is just to smoke you la. The hiring freeze in spite of the resignation wave in Dec and Jan is intentional. It's mainly because mid tier poached a lot of the Big 4 clients with lower fees last year so there is no more need for that many headcount.
Wait till FY2024 and FY2025 audit and you will see. Obviously no partner is gonna come out and say err we lost contracts so we downsizing.

Nope, looking to leave too. It's a sinking ship yet the govt won't do anything about it except asking our esteemed PM-in-waiting to take selfies with ACRA staff.

even the sep 2023 joiners are already asking about exit. some already tendered during probation period. but it's okay because they're gonna tell management attrition rate is only 25%
