lol. This trash profession gone case due to malaysians flooding the industry.
low ball the salary, until no locals want to do
even our future PM got to make a statement on it
can foresee audit firms getting more stringent on hiring malaysians going forward
and to encourage locals, salary gonna go up

Being an auditor can be challenging for several reasons, making it a demanding and often stressful profession. Here are some factors contributing to the tough nature of an auditor's life:

High Responsibility: Auditors are responsible for examining and verifying financial information to ensure its accuracy and compliance with regulations. Any oversight or error in their work can have significant consequences for the organization and its stakeholders.

Long Hours: Auditors often work long hours, especially during peak audit seasons. Tight deadlines and the need for thorough examination contribute to extended work hours, leading to a challenging work-life balance.

Continuous Learning: Auditors need to stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends. This requires continuous learning to remain effective in their roles, adding to the intellectual demands of the job.

Pressure to Meet Deadlines: Auditors are often under pressure to complete audits within tight deadlines, especially during regulatory reporting periods. This can lead to stress and may require auditors to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Client Expectations: Clients may have high expectations for the audit process, demanding both efficiency and accuracy. Managing client relationships while maintaining independence and objectivity can be challenging.

Travel Requirements: Depending on the size and structure of the audit firm, auditors may need to travel frequently to client locations. This can lead to a physically demanding lifestyle, with auditors spending significant time away from home.

Regulatory Scrutiny: Auditors operate in a highly regulated environment. Any perceived failure in fulfilling their responsibilities can lead to regulatory scrutiny, potentially impacting the reputation of both the auditor and the audit firm.

Dealing with Fraud and Unethical Behavior: Auditors may encounter situations where they need to investigate and report on fraud or unethical behavior within the organizations they are auditing. This can be emotionally challenging and may involve delicate interactions with clients.

Balancing Objectivity and Professional Skepticism: Maintaining objectivity and professional skepticism is crucial for auditors. They need to approach their work with a critical mindset while also being fair and impartial, which can be a delicate balance.

Varied Work Environments: Auditors work with a diverse range of clients in different industries, each with its unique challenges. Adapting to various work environments and industries requires flexibility and a broad skill set.

So accounting seniors are 'smarter' than their juniors because the cut-off points drop a lot over the years.

Wonder do tech juniors find their seniors stupid since the cut-off points have soared

Anyone else frustrated by how interviews have gone back to being F2F? Trying to get out of peak but the interviews are always only during non-lunch working hours and miles away from client office. How did you guys manage to interview while working in audit? We aren't allowed to take leave for half the year too

It’s a circular problem.

It’s fair for prospective candidate to assess the prestige of the qualification.

But without a strong alumni, the qualification can’t become prestigious.

If you get 1 grade higher for A levels, you can get into business instead of accountancy.
