Gave $900 to my mum per month since I started work 15yrs ago.
Nothing to father since I don't know where he is as they had divorced 20years ago and he had remarried while my mum stayed single and took care of the kids, 3 of us.
I don't increase the amount because she doesn't spend much. And she has rental income from her HDB as well as pocket money from my other 2 siblings. So it's very comfortable and she is happy. In fact she is happy as long as we talk to her, eat with her each week, bring the grandkids to play with her.
I pay for medical insurance and bills and wedding/cny/funeral events

Wow... I think what matters most is at the end of the day, we really still spend time with them and that's what keeps them happy too... Just wondering if our kids will grow up with us being a financial burden to them. 40yrs down the road things will just be more expensive and the place will be much less livable...
How do you guys plan in a way that our kids will be less stressful with us over their shoulders in many years to come. Stopping at 1 kid is probably going to make that one child very stressful in the future...
