Hi SIMians, Aussie grad here
I did just as bad or worse than you SIMians in poly, yet unlike you peasants my family has enough money to fund my education in Aussieland. When I come back to SG with my second upper UniMelb/Usyd degree (no bell curve, party everyday can easily get 2:1) I will still be more competitive than you trash despite putting in equal/less effort. I call this phenomenon 'lottery of birth'. Only those who are both stupid and poor are relegated to SIM. Those who are only stupid but born into privilege can still afford the opportunity to go to a real uni and attain a real degree I guess all I am saying is, dun lump us Aussie grads in with you SIM trash. Money opens doors, and being stupid is forgivable if you are rich #SIMian #SIMpson |

My parents can easily send me to Oz too, but I got into NUS with a double degree FCH. It's a nice occasional flex but I'm not a better person just for having it. I believe everyone deserves a fighting chance in life. Doesn't matter where you graduated from or how rich your family is. Have some humility and empathy, and recognise your privileges. |

DBS GA (even if you land it) roles are frowned upon on dinner tables. Only hyped up by Aunties during CNY because they carry their debit cards. |

She was constantly talking about how much of a failure her son was for going to SIM, and how embarrassed she was about his constant boastings of 4k+ starting salary. When she asked him about the job, he simply said there was no need to reveal specifics 🤔 Damn, small world, huh 😂 Who would have known SIM Warrior mother kena fk by NUS BBA lol 😂 #simdegreesmatter |

Get your c*ck out of your mom’s mouth and start accepting the fact that you’re infatuated with us bro. It’s a good thing, you can learn from our success stories. How we managed to land >4K entry-level positions (BBs, Big Tech, F500) despite paying cheaper fees, flunking our diploma/As and having a less recognised cert. Might be my hairy man legs, idk 🤷 |

Most likely inferiority complex lah. Last time never study hard, now relegated to lower tier in society liao. According to her, you should blame yourself, you know. But i defend u brudder. I say some people brain just smoother. Nothing you can do about that lor. Not everyone can be banker/lawyer mah. Need some hawker cleaner/cashier also what. Dats what SIMs are for :D #simdegreesmatter |

Not sure why it offends you. Sounds like insecurity. |
You are suffering from many mental illnesses but never forget that you’re the epitome of inferiority complex LOL
Can find so many SIM grads on LinkedIn with 4K+ entry-level jobs (and since you like DBS so much, DBS GA roles too). Don’t get mad that you went to NUS, scored 85 RP and paid higher school fees but you’re still inferior to some of us. Living in denial and posting childish crap wouldn’t help with your situation ;) |
Quote:
She keep asking me. Why me son so obsessed with linkedin? Everyday scroll linkedin, like full time job sia. I say inferiority complex mah. Must justify decision (or lack of, LOL!) to enroll in SIM University (distance learning edition). It is normal human coping mechanism :D #simdegreesmatter |
think he just received rejection from DBS for a second time. took him a few days to digest but now it finally sunk it that there will DEFINITELY be SIM grads earning far more than him.

It's sort of like how some people do fantastically well in PSLE, then lose out to others in O levels who didn't do as well in PSLE. Success at any point in life isn't guaranteed. On the flipside, even if you messed up some of your exams, you still have a good chance to carve a living for yourself. That's the magic of meritocracy. There's a very big luck component when it comes to career success, so if you don't make boatloads of cash, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're lazy or incompetent. Likewise, if you become successful, don't think you are inherently better than others just because you got to where you are. |

Since you failed to convert your pre-assigned internship, failed to secure a 3k + job, love to concoct posts about the police, suffer from autism and inferiority complex, a 2k+ starting job wearing the navy blue uniform is probably your best option. #localunitrash #dbsreject |

And possibly your girlfriend too Friendly reminder to look after the both of them when you head down to LSE Clementi for your 'lessons' 😂 #4ksalarynospecifics #satkisimwarrior |

lol... scrolled back 10 over pages still couldn't find out exactly what is this "4k bragging" about....
Anyway, SIM UOL alumni here... graduated more than 7 years ago.... started my first job in the banking industry at 2.5... but was very grateful that i had a job back then... even though many of my peers had gotten jobs with >3k starting pay, though, with questionable prospects... anyway.... progressed through the ranks over the years and i am at a very comfortable pay grade at this juncture... not exactly the highest amongst my peers but more than enough for my own living standards... it is an undeniable fact that local grads are generally perceived as "better quality" than puni/distant learning grads... but hey! not the end of the world... building a career is like a marathon...depends on how you pace and carry yourself... all the best to your SIMians and local U grads... tough times... |
