i was previously in barclay's. Out of 20 staff maybe 3 Bs? 2As? the rest of the majority are Cs. In a BO, it is harder to judge performance because we have no PnL, just daiily deliverables.

Im fortunate to secure a perm position getting 3.2 after grad in front end banking as a research analyst role. basic may be low compared to peers in this industry but an excellent learning opportunity. profits are up this year compared to previous, and the pros of front end is that we get bonus first before allocating to middle n back end support staffs.

Hi, care to share where and how did you secure a perm position in bank. I am a recent graduate of BSc. banking and finance UOL-SIM.

Start networking with the big shots in the industry, otherwise a UOL-SIM will never get a FO perm position just by normal application.

Hi, i'm the guy who posted earlier --> "grad from e&f last yr"
Not really. some of my colleagues OT alot but i seldom do. Not sure how much bonus i will be getting since I've not reach my 1 yr of employment yet ( almost). As always, bonuses r all dependent on "performance" on my part as well as the bank's.
For me, im not too worried about bonus but rather what is my next move for my career option. There r certain areas in compliance within banking that r highly lucrative (but comes with tremendous amt of stress) and not ppl with 1 or 2 yr exp can enter. Those tat r asking which area i specialize in - sorry, but im not telling u anything haha.
And for the guy who says he moved to HSBC from 3.6 to 5.1. I would assume u r on a AVP scheme? U reporting to Hi**** or Eli****** ? is y** hw** still in hsbc?

Understandable if anyone of u does not want to disclose where u r in. Since then, do any of u mind telling us what areas are there in compliance?? So far aml/kyc is the area that is hiring a lot and from what I know these areas do not pay a lot(at least for entry lvl). Everytime when u google compliance jobs kyc/aml are the ones that come up...

Was that a true statement though? From what I know its highly unlikely that an SIM graduate can beat local u students in a JP Morgan graduate but a friend of mine got a job there as an analyst prob through connections.
Stay hopeful guys! Would recommend job seekers to bring name cards around while meeting ipt ppl, at least they will rmb your names when they dig out stuff from their pockets and needs someone for a position.

Management Consulting Carrers
Hi,
Seeking advice from experienced professionals!
I will be graduating in May 2015 with a BSc B&F degree after my final exams (hooray!) and am really keen on pursuing a career as a Management Consultant. Top choices, of course, go to MBB Consulting firms followed by local and foreign consulting firms.
Would like to seek advice on:
1. What firms are good in the industry
2. If the number of graduates of SIM-UOL getting in is high
3. How and What I can do to score an interview with them (I'm pretty confident with my interview skills!)
If you have been there, done that or heard of similar cases, please feel free to share! Criticism is accepted if that can make me improve (Y)

You can apply for the fun of it. But don't get your hopes up. No chance.
