nice. so you already secured a position? thats v good considering the current economic climate. You might be the outlier within your graduating batch. How about your peers? Not trying to gloat but a single red dot doesnt tell the full picture.

Am probably the top 1-5% for the Class of 2021 (not trying to brag - I mean it’s just ~75th percentile of local uni 4 year biz school anw).
A few of my peers have already secured offers (but they are kinda similar to me — have pretty decent intern exp, academic results & leadership/CCA exp) albeit <5k/month. However, most are still searching to get >3k/mth /probably have to settle for traineeships.

Eventually i settled for a job in a bank for 2.4k. You can find details of my career progression over the years in the other thread that talks about how much one earn per annum, just posted recently -if u r ever curious about my side of story as well haha.
Times have really changed indeed....

Honestly - if I learned anything from my experience thus far - is that where you start doesn’t determine where you end tbh.
I mean I went to private uni and only expected 3k but will be drawing close to 5k when I graduate. So really, who knows what the future holds? I may screw up and lose to someone who started at 3k in the future.
P.S. Not aiming for the gold award though. Been just chilling and lazing around (getting complacent lmao) ever since I got an offer (not a good thing I know haha).

indeed. be humble and more accomodating - over the years ive have seen many ppl disillusioned by their own abilities, blinded by their own ego and in the end self-detonated their own careers (am in banking).
tbh, my personal take to all UOL peeps here- paper qual does matter for a start and certainly remains so even in your mid to late career stage, but of coz w/ varying degrees depending on the line of work. the stigma is there for sure as a DL grad and there's no denying it. To overcome it and climb the ladder is never easy but not impossible. Dont be too hard up about chasing the clouds... take care of your health and your loved ones... Hardwork, humility and luck all r equally impt(unless u born w golden spoon then ok la np)!

Yeah sia, until he upload a ss of his offer letter with his 5k salary, everyone should take his salary as 2.5k everytime he says 5k

dont like that. im also a SIM grad lol. im the other guy who asked him about his situation.
In all honesty, it is not impossible which is why i said he may v well be the outlier in his graduating batch. That said, tbh, i personally have not come across any pte grads freshies getting placed into MA progs in most of the banks i have worked at... cant say the same for other specializations / industries
in any case, this is the internet so everybardy chill out haha
