Its on the same tier as being a RM / personal banker lmao

Real front office: Investment banking, Traders are another professional tier alr, let alone the bank itself DBS is a tier 2 only

If youre starting youre first job as these kind of "banker" is probably less than 4k basic. DBS Graduate Associate (supposed fast track programs) is alr 3.8k btw +/-

You'd be lucky to get even 3500, considering the mess these banks are in with the oil trading companies

Entry personal banker only make 3k basic btw, the rest is bonus or comms
Meanwhile, local uni 2nd upper taking 2.2k traineeship

Diam diam la, how many local uni grads in BB IB/S&T every year? ya i give it to you, they are definitely better than us.

Are you one of them? 2.2k traineeship want compare with BB BO (5k+), Hedge Fund FO (easily >7k), Local banks GA (3.8-4.5k), ACN/Big 4 Consulting (3.5-4.5k).

Just learn to be more secure with yourself la. Local uni diploma end up also jobless now come forum kpkb LOL

Exactly lo, you give me a few more examples and I might just convince my cousin to come SIM instead of NUS!

Local uni kids stop being so pathetic la, we living in your head rent free bros, stop stalking this private uni thread la, so insecure for what

Go see LinkedIn and u can find a handful more success stories from SIM. Somehow not all of us are useless, who would have thought eh??

I can sorta see why so many local uni grads are spending their time here bashing SIM now lol

Take a chill pill guys.

Let's just focus on ourselves and prove our worth through actions, not words

What they think: Local uni pass > SIM top 10%
Reality: Local uni pass <= SIM 2nd upper

Naturally they would be salty when they see the 80th percentile students earning more than them and having better job prospects, taking away their GA/MA slots, taking away their strat/AM/IB/Big tech slots.

Of course those that actually did better than SIM students wouldnt be here giving a ****, it's not worth their time to get caught up in this **** and they do not need to prove a point.

Bottomline to SIM students: there are many great examples out there that your SIM degree does not automatically get rejected since there are so many that were still able to secure an interview and with a handful securing an offer at top firms. Trust me, i have seen lots of incompetent local uni students even those that previously came from top JCs.

College education is the beginning not the end
This.

Local uni grads: Please make better use of your time. By persistently posting and commenting on this thread, you are just showing how relevant of a competition SIM-UOL is.

Private uni grads: Calm down. Most of the comments here are from trolls. Yes, as long as you work hard, there is always a possibility for you to do well in your career.

Precisely the reason why trolls keep coming back is because a private uni grad here can't calm down. Hahahahahha

Lazy list liao. The rest, Big 4, Big Tech, FMCG etc. all canfind UOL grads.

You get the drift can liao. Humble up local uni kids, these are not the only UOL ppl in these companies btw. I just lazy copy paste and don't want to be a more hardcore stalker than I already am
Neat list but i would not really throw DBS GA and Accenture Consulting into the mix unless its Accenture Strategy specifically, those that worked there knows they convert almost all their interns and there are tons of SIM students in Accenture if you know where to look

Play the outlast game.
Don't overwork.
People who perform get awarded with more work until they can't take it and quite.
Those who underperformed can't make it.

So must learn to be stress enough at work but not too stress.
Work only during the time that matters.
Then just slack the rest.
Don't argue with customer. Don't argue with boss.

Everything just yes.
Can't do. Won't do. Don't know how to do. Also reply with.
"sure I'll look right onto this"

Then find a way to delegate this task to your colleagues as team work activity.
Then report the result to the boss and take credit.

But also must play along with the colleagues..
Long term plan is they must leave on their own.
But you're the instigator. Then when they leave you get promoted lo.

But must keep your enemy close...
After all you still need them to do the work for you.
If you piss them off all quit...
You have to do the work yourself.

Then jialat liao lo
Cool story bro

How I wish. I am defeatist because I'm a private uni grad

There are people with e.g. nus european studies degrees, but nonetheless they can hold their heads up high
