you guys gotta give us FA some respect. Pretty sure yall have insurance to help in times of rainy days. What would you do without it, pay 100 of thousands of hospitalisation fees? At the end of the day, we are all salesman in different capacity, front office banking, FAs, salesman at Courts, same same.
Have been in the space for many years, don't know why yall hold bankers to such high esteem but look down on us FAs. We all are literally salesman, just selling different suite of product. In fact, FAs product have higher relevancy to you individuals than wtv the bankers are selling which are corporate in nature. |

A GP and a resident both have the same base line qualifications regardless (as in both are literally doctors) FAs and IB/High finance bros dont have the same base line qualifications. Like literally some FAs got no degree and the CMFAS certs they take are also diff lol. |

Currently in a private uni and am finding it hard to compete for internships. Any idea how to make myself more competitive? I see people on LinkedIn masking their private uni status...eg putting UOL instead of SIM. Do you recommend doing the same.
PS. Not from UOL but you get the idea... its better to put just the ovs name and exclude SIM |

Interested in a front office banking role. Currently in the school's investment club as a trading analyst but the job hunt has not been smooth at all

'Bankers' at the retail banking level are almost equivalent to agents, but PB is a whole different ball game. That's where clients can get access to structured products, exotics, bonds and all sorts of different asset classes. Definitely more relevant and holistic than ur ILP lol. |

To get an internship, have the knowledge in the sector u're going for. Like advanced knowledge since you're from a lower tier uni have to leverage on things like competitions, case challenge or hackathons if u're from CS. Do apply earlier before local uni grads can secure an internship. Joined 1-2 competitions from uni and obtained roles from cca as well. Graduated last year and my pay in the finance sector is now 5k above. Not great but I'm okay with it, just gotta work harder than the rest.

If anything, you are a disgrace to your parents and should be ashamed to face your ancestors for going SIM. |
