actually im not mr wang, whoever that is. im a sim uol grad, already in a job that pays me 4.3k per month. pretty happy where i am. laughing at my JC that went to local uni and now still jobless, resorting to begging for traineeship 2.5k/month with no CPF :(

really feel sad for them. but their EQ damn low and they don't know how to talk, so i can understand why they can't get good jobs.

Unregistered 07-07-2021 07:20 PM

Hi all,

hoping for some advice here. I am a sim-uol bnf undergrad fch, graduating next year.
however, I have no internship experience. Tried very hard this summer but I barely got any replies. I am worried that I would not be able to find a job next year despite my fch.

Any advise from anyone???

Cast a wide net and keep finding. Be it boutiques, SMEs, MNCs / in different industries. You can opt to take a semester internship too since you are lacking work exp, just structure your timetable to accommodate it. Don’t neglect your extra curriculars as well - leadership positions in CCAs, competition experience etc.

Average or above average I guess? Started work this month drawing close to 5k (outlier in SIM standards ofc).

Looking to break 10k pm in less than 6 years.

Nice. What line are you in to get a starting of close to $5k?

I mean there's only 1 exam per year(per mod) and can take up to a day to do it? What's stopping them from paying people to do it or collaborating with smarter friends? Integrity? Haha

That's why a fch alone in sim is useless, it means nothing.

Obviously UOL degree << local uni degree << ivy etc degree

Any degree is only good for you to get 1 foot into the door. I've seen people with connections get into IB (family biz is a client of the IB), but quickly fizzle out. Most of the times these people just get there to get 2 or 3 years on the CV before joining the family biz.

Up to a day? What are you smoking honestly? Go be salty elsewhere.

Some sim exams have a 24 hour deadline last time, but not now. Now is usually 6 hours
