ST Engineering SWE as a fresh grad

Hi guys! Im a private com sci fresh grad and looking to join ST Engineering as a Software Engineer. May I know what is the culture like there, and also how is the starting pay for fresh grads over there? Is it a good place to start a career as a SWE? thank you!

Which private university?

Last I recall they don't accept private university students, so no point telling you the rest, sorry.

Huh legit?

Wow sorry, quite surprised because my friends work there since 2020 and their hiring managers just straight up told them "don't refer private uni people".

Anyway congrats man, pay is 3.8k starting, will scale depending if you can negotiate or not. For culture I don't know, depends which team you going to.

A classmate of mine got into ST swe last year, he said pay around 3.8k. first few months nothing to do lol. Not sure how now though.

Should go apply for NCS SWE instead, they dont discriminate local U and private U fresh grads. I am getting the same pay as a NUS CS 2nd upper grad even though I barely pass my degree from UOW.

This is true.

ST Engineering, NCS etc are all considered low tier tech companies. The reason why they don't discriminate is because they can't beat the other tech company TCs.

There's no point trying to pay a NUS / NTU CS grad higher than private uni at ST / NCS when other places ( lazada, grab, motional, autodesk, garena, rakuten, visa, paypal, citibank, jp morgan, CS, GS, and many more places, not including shopee and other companies that are on layoff period ) pays them 6-8k starting.

ST / NCS cant afford to pay that range at all.
