but i'm wondering about the induction. do we really need to go for OBS, canoeing etc. if its just workshops or going around i'm fine. but OBS...... sounds very CCA-ish.

Yes, you have to go for the full OBS experience which includes camping (5days, 4 nights iirc).
Almost all my batch mates got sunburnt during canoeing... the induction camp was certainly no walk in the park.
Till today, I don't understand the rationale of going to OBS...it's true you develope camaraderie with your batch mates but of what use is that when all are from different CCs?

You probably won't get as much crap as CME compared to CM except for dealing with difficult residents at the front desk.
If **** happens, just call the duty manager for help, that's what the CMEs in my previous CC did.

Even if you get posted to a good CC, PA has this policy of rotating their staff across CCs so you won't stay in any CC for very long.

Initially, I was very happy working for PA too, brimming with enthusiasm and energy.
But that was the honeymoon period before the real nightmare began...

Wont stay in any CC for very long so maybe saying 5 years? Cos my friend have been with one CC for 3 going 4 years.

Well its always honeymoon period everywhere before **** starts. My current job was **** till 3 years into it too.

Damn... I saw the induction was at WestCoast I was hoping yay no OBS. Now I’m guessing there would be.

I share the same thoughts as you. Whats the pt if everyone is gna be posted to diff CCs but well I guess they put every staff in PA as one regardless of the different CCs being posted to.

OBS is compulsory as long as you recruited into PA or just for specific positions?

Just keep in mind "any other duties as assigned"..

basically if one can thrive in expecting the unexpected in daily work routine till retire, then this is the right career to consider.

Anyone know whats the procedure like for someone working in CC but will like to request transfer to HQ for regular hours ?

Leaves

May I know how many days of leaves do the Constituency Manager gets in the beginning and how ‘leaves’ system works? Every 2 years add 1 day or what?
Thanks in advance for the reply.

Hi,

Does PA hire fresh local uni grads for CM?

And for those who have applied at the website, how long after applying did you get a call back to arrange for an interview?

Thank you!!

While OBS is no longer with PA, CMs still have to attend induction camp at National Community Leadership Institute for 2 days 1 night.

Emailed HR last Friday but they said reaults will only be out two weeks after the date of my intv.

Do u think i’d be able to get an update on my intv status if I email them this coming wed? Quite keen on the CM position yet nervous abt pestering HR! :(
