Accountancy or Business Degree?
Which is the better option if I want to work as analyst (analyze trends, research on companies) or inside corporate finance, either in a bank or MNC.
Although these jobs have "Finance" within their titles, a quick search through JobsDB seems to tell me a different story. "Financial Analyst" falls under Accounting jobs. Furthermore, for some companies (such as Kim Eng Securities) they are only taking in accountancy grads with a CPA cert.
The irony here is some "Financial Analyst" job requires Accountancy degree instead of Finance degree, and a CPA cert instead of Chartered Financial Analyst cert.
Hence I was wondering will a business degree major in finance will in fact hamper my chances albeit the job title says a different story.
