Tech Public Sector vs Non FAANG Private Sector

Again the notion that public sector just does staff work is an old one. Yes I do staff work too, that's part of the job, but I do have the luxury to code too.

If you work in the private sector, at architect level, you won't code much, but if you are smart about things, you still can code. Same for public sector.

There are people in the government who spend most of their time coding. Maybe this was not true 8-10 years ago, but now it is possible to be a true coder in government (although you will occasionally have to do things like present your project to the Perm Sec or equivalent, write a funding paper etc)

Depends. Public sector is a big place.

If generalist MX, you need to get on a talent scheme. Non-scholars can get on as well, but not everyone passes the gate.

Specialist i'm not so sure.
