I can't leave during my first 3 years cos I was doing a part time masters. If I leave I will not be entitled to the school fees subsidies as part of staff entitlement.

Nope it's not, but pharmacist follows similar increment as well. All the allied health get this kind of increment across the whole cluster.

What industry/function? The 2.5k jump is astounding.

Unregistered 16-06-2021 10:32 AM

Take these salaries here with a pinch of salt. Generally those who go well will want to show off and those who are not will remain silent. These are either fake or not representative of the general population.

Tier 2 starting at 4.5k? Seems uncharacteristic.

$4800 => $5000 => $5600 (promoted)

Tech industry so it's likely slightly higher than most others.

Unregistered 22-06-2021 03:30 PM

3rd class hons local U, STEM background
2016 3300 (consulting), TC 46k
2017 3600
2018 4320 (promotion)
2019 4900/4400 (change industry to tech ops, took a pay cut)
2020 4700/7200 (change company, started grad school)
2021 8300 (change company), TC 120k

Non-tech roles such as ops do not require a STEM background, but technical knowledge such as SQL will come in handy. The rest is all about opportunities and relevant working experience, so long as you can map your project experience to the roles you are looking for, align your interests with tech companies values n mission, then I believe anyone can stand a chance to enter tech.

Possible if it's your dad's company, just like how someone promoted from captain to brigadier general in 6 years.

It was not an easy path, but yes working FO. Looking at a degree soon, probably plateau some where along the line.

How did you even land a FO BB role with just a diploma at 3.6k?

There was a junior role opening online, didn’t think much and was bored during holidays, I went through 4 rounds. That was also before my uni acceptance came in, and because I took it the role I had to shelf uni (double edged sword on hindsight.

This is an anonymous forum, wouldn't take the content here seriously. Only those who done well will want to show off while those behind will diam diam. Not representative of real life.

BB gave you an average DIP guided pay but seeing they promoted you after year 3-4, why did you leave BB or did you can head hunted by MM?

It's BS cause of the jump. If there wasn't any jump I can still believe, internal jumps like that don't really depend on credentials and just on your superior's appraisal. But getting a jump from 4100 to 6900 without a degree from another institution? Yeah, that's BS.

Firstly, no BB ever takes FO direct hires without degree. Secondly, they start way higher than 3.6k (assuming you’re a wizard just no degree).

Which function in FO exactly and which BB? By professional certifications do you mean you are a CFA/CAIA/FRM holder?

Looking at that, I do believe either BS or OP had a mid-level rank promotion. Not un-common, but yea let’s take everything here with caution. :)

Unregistered 25-06-2021 04:19 PM

Just O LEVELS. No Diploma, no degree.

Started as a cleaning officer as that is the most readily available job.

$1000 (Cleaner grade 2)
$1200 (Cleaner grade 1)
$1600 (Senior Cleaner)
$2000 (Senior Principal Cleaner)
$3500 (Cleaning Supervisor)
$4500 (Regional Cleaning Supervisor)
$6000 (Deputy Superintendent of Hygiene)
$8000 (Superintendent of Hygiene)
$10000 (Assistant Vice President)
$12000 (Assistant Vice President)
$15000 (Assistant Vice President)
$20000 (Executive Director of cleaning division)
$25000 (Vice President of Cleaning)

Am I doing ok for non degree/diploma holder?

OP: Just reading through these here and just can’t believe the feedback from a friendly sharing. The amounts listed aren’t extraordinary either especially when compared with fast tracked degree holders / MAs.

However to answer some, I did an internal mobility move between 4100 to 6900, still FO with different function, the company sent me for a traineeship tour in one of their SEA offices to learn from the other teams there and I had a rank promotion. RGD move - MM poached me over and I decided that it was a right opportunity (at that time). RGD BB hiring DIP for FO, I experienced it, but I can’t stop you from doubting as it is indeed very rare.

Unregistered 26-06-2021 10:44 AM

Still waiting for replies to this OP.
